Ali Mackenzie
Hi my name’s Ali Mackenzie, and vocals are my trade. I started out singing at school with my first band, The Renegades, which featured future record producer Pip Williams on guitar and Kim Gardner (bass), with whom I went on to form The Birds, alongside Ronnie Wood (guitar), Tony Monroe (guitar) and Bob Langham (drums) who was later replaced by Pete McDaniels.
As The Birds, we were signed to Decca Records, cutting a series of singles and album tracks. The band were billed as ‘London’s Greatest R&B Group’ and enjoyed a huge following, up and down the country. We played literally 100s of gigs, and travelled 1000s of miles doing so. Decca released an Anthology of all our recorded work recently, which has found a new audience amongst Mod and R&B fans worldwide, eager to hear our music.

Terry Cassidy

Terry started his singing career in church choirs but soon became involved with pop music via the cabaret circuit, singing for Chancery Lane and The Hubcaps. He then moved on to the rock music scene, working with various bands such as The Mood and Gin House.
Later, his extensive session work included numerous TV and radio jingles and it was whilst working on a musical with Cat Stevens that he met Richard ‘Hud’ Hudson and together, they formed The Monks, achieving chart success in the UK, Europe and Canada with the singles ‘Nice Legs – Shame About The Face’ and ‘Drugs In My Pocket’ and the albums, ‘Bad Habits’ and ‘Suspended Animation’.
Then, inspired by the music of the 1930’s, Terry and Hud went on to form their current band High Society, a refreshing change from the typical rock/pop idiom.
With their own original songs, they manage to successfully combine the sharpness and style of today with the wit and whimsy of the 1930’s. Their album, ‘I never Go Out In The Rain’ was recently released on Angel Air Records.
